The Colonial & Colonial Revival
ORIGIN OF STYLE
- Eastern U.S.
- Influenced by Georgian, Southern, Federal, Dutch, Spanish, and English colonial styles.

COMMON FEATURES
- Three or five symmetrically placed double hung windows.
- Shutters are typically only for esthetic purposes.
- Rectangular structure, one to three stories tall.
- Prominent & centered front door.
- Chimneys often located on each side of the home.
- If dormer windows are present they will be aligned vertically with the windows and front door.
COLONIAL REVIVAL
- Often sided with white clapboard.
- Shutters are usually black or green.
- Elegant central hallways and elaborate crown molding.
