  • Eastern U.S.
  • Influenced by Georgian, Southern, Federal, Dutch, Spanish, and English colonial styles.

COMMON FEATURES

  • Three or five symmetrically placed double hung windows.
  • Shutters are typically only for esthetic purposes.
  • Rectangular structure, one to three stories tall.
  • Prominent & centered front door.
  • Chimneys often located on each side of the home.
  • If dormer windows are present they will be aligned vertically with the windows and front door.

COLONIAL REVIVAL

  • Often sided with white clapboard.
  • Shutters are usually black or green.
  • Elegant central hallways and elaborate crown molding.
